Experience:

Arben Theodhosi was born in Tirana in 1953
1991 - One of 10 Albanian artists participating in the “Forbidden Art “ exhibition held in Vienna.
1992 - First one-men exhibition at the National Art Gallery in Tirana, featuring 40 oil paintings realized during his 15 years of exile.
1993 - Completed his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Tirana, which had been interrupted for 15 years, from 1975 to 1990, when he was subjected to internal exile and forced labor in a copper mine as a result of his father’s political attitude (Koço Theodhosi, accused in 1975 for being against the socialist dictatorial regime and sentenced to death in 1977).
1994 – Exhibition at the Center of Fashion and Design, sponsored by William Walters, featuring 25 oil paintings.
1995 - Awarded the first prize “Onufri 95” by the National Art Gallery in Tirana for his allegorical painting ‘Noah’s Ark’.
1996 - Exhibition at the National Gallery of Art in Tirana, sponsored by Debra Wahlberg.
1994 - 1996 Theodhosi was employed in The Institute of Monuments of Tirana (the group of painters working in restauring and conservation). Having regard to the level and possibilities of the Institute, Theodhosi considered this period a waste of time, after which he set out with his own atelier.
1996 - 1998 for Theodhosi was a good experience, working in Greece for a couple of foreign galleries like ‘Areta’ and ‘Plaka Gallery’
2002 - Exhibition in Arezzo, Italy, organized and sponsored by IOM, UCODEP and Region of Toscana.
Arben Theothosi’s work has an influence from his many years of experience with subterranean rock formations. Mythology is also present in his paintings.
Memories and viewpoints can be found in his book and catalogue “Revocation”. Theodhosi’s paintings can be found in private collections throughout Europe and North America.
